The tsunami in the Indian Ocean in 2004 made a deep impression on me. The huge numbers of casualties were overwhelming. What do these numbers really mean to me. How can I imagine 290 000 casualties as with the Tsunami. This theme led to the works titled Tsunami, which must be seen in a broader perspective of natural disasters in general and victims of conflicts around the world. By processing large numbers of materials, I try with my hands to make those vast numbers both tangible and visible.
